We want to give a shout out and congratulations to sixth grade choir student Arden Schlegel, who auditioned for, and is representing Bethany Middle School at the Children's OKMEA All State Choir Festival this weekend. Great job, Arden! photo provided by: D. Chitwood, choir director

It was an exciting weekend for basketball fans as both of our 8th grade teams made it to the championship games of the Weatherford tournament on Saturday. The Lady Bronchos finished second, falling to Darlington in the final game. The boys team came out on top against Mustang with a score of 53-45, and were named tournament champs! Great job to both teams, the players, managers, coaches (and parents, who drove back and forth to Weatherford for three days in a row!) on the event.

Reminder, there will be no school Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Stay safe, Bronchos!

It's that time of year! Kids needing Kleenex in class, and teachers needing more boxes from the office .... and our stock is low! If you could please send in a box or two to help, either to your child's Elevate teacher, or directly to the middle school office, it would be greatly appreciated.

We missed our opportunity before the winter break, so we'd like to now say Congratulations to our December Students of the Month: 8th grade: Ellie Goodwin & Bennett Wickwire; 7th grade: Smith Baxter & Sloane Roberts; 6th grade: Madelyn Ramos & Fletcher Waugh. Great job, Bronchos!

This past weekend, BMS had two students participate in the Central Oklahoma Directors Association Honor Band.
These students auditioned and earned a placement in these ensembles, which are made up of the best of the best students in the greater Oklahoma City area including all of the large 6A schools that surround Bethany. The clinic and concert took place at the University of Oklahoma.
We are very proud of the hard work our kids have put in! Photo provided by: Steve Sharp, band director

Congratulations to both our 7th grade girls and 7th grade boys basketball teams on their tournament runs and second place finishes at the Weatherford Classic Tournament. Both teams advanced to the championship games today, and played two solid games of closely-fought hoops, falling just a few points short to the Elk City girls and boys teams. We are proud of your hard work, dedication, and teamwork throughout!

Congratulations to the JH All-State choir students who have been hard at work the past few days. BPS had 16 students in grades 7-9 selected to participate, the largest group ever from Bethany for OkCDA JH All-State Choir. Great job! Photo provided: W Andrews, choir director

First semester reports cards are being distributed today!

We are kicking off the new year with a teacher feature over one of our fabulous music educators, Mr. Wendyle Andrews! Mr. Andrews has his Bachelor of Music Education degree in Vocal Music from Oklahoma State University. He is currently in seminary at Dallas Theological Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Education. He has been in education for eight years, and as a BPS alumni, we are thrilled he has returned these last three years to his alma mater.
A few of his favorites:
😀Snack: Gardetttos and Chex Mix
🍽️Restaurant: The Jones Assembly
📺TV show: Downton Abbey, The Gilded Age
🧡🧢Sports team: OSU, NY Yankees
🥤Drink: Dr. Pepper Zero
🎶Band or music: I like a lot of different genres
📚Book: The Night Circus, The Cradle Series
🌍Vacation place: Europe
🎵 📖 🧳Hobbies: Music, Reading, Traveling
🎭Dream career if not a teacher: Broadway

An unusual or fun fact about yourself: I've been to 14 different 🌍countries so far
What motivated me to become a teacher? “The number one thing that motivated me to be a teacher were my teachers here at Bethany. Mrs. Bielich and Mrs. Mann were extremely important in my life growing up, as were several of the other teachers I had here at Bethany. I wanted to provide students with the same experience I had in middle school and high school, which is part of why I became a teacher.”
Say hello to Mr. Andrews!
