SWAT Week (Students Who Achieve Together) fundraising is still taking place this semester with optional hat & pj days your student can take part in .... list attached!

Bring your loose change!! Popcorn day in the middle school happens this Friday!

Best of luck to our 7th grade boys and girls basketball teams as they kick off their Weatherford tournament games tomorrow. Let's go, Bronchos!!

First Wednesday back tomorrow --- don't forget it's late start!! Classes begin at 8:30 am; students arriving before 8:20 am will enter through the main middle school doors, then go directly to the HS gym. Thanks for a great first day back today, Bronchos!

Congratulations to both the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams on their wins tonight over the Bridgecreek Bobcats. Despite a valiant attempt at a late-game comeback by the Bobcats, the 7th grade team managed to hang on to their early lead and win by a score of 35-43. The 8th grade game was neck and neck until the 4th quarter when the Bronchos pulled away and won 35-49. Great night of Broncho basketball!!

We are excited to see our students back tomorrow at 8am! As a reminder, students will have tomorrow and Wednesday to request a schedule change for the second semester (elective classes only.) Request forms will be available in the MS office. As some classes are already full, and therefore not all requests can be honored, students do need to continue attending their current class until they receive a new schedule from Mrs. Williford. Wednesday at 3pm is the deadline. Thank you!

The date has been set! The BMS Spring Dance will take place on Friday, March 27th. More details will be coming, but for now, mark your calendars and save the date for this fun event!

Reminder for the first day back on Tuesday .... see you then, Bronchos!

Happy holidays from all of us at BMS! We hope your break has been restful and fun. As a reminder, classes for students resume at 8am on Tuesday, Jan 6th. See you then!

7th grade basketball parents, looking ahead after the winter break, there will be a 7th grade basketball tournament at Weatherford on Jan 8-10th. We are attaching the brackets here to help you with planning. Have a great break, and we're already excited to come back to some great Broncho basketball!

Parents, to help you plan check in/check out for semester test days on Thursday and Friday this week, please make note of the attached test schedule. Please also note lunch times might be altered for your students class. Remember students can only be checked out between testing sessions. Any questions, feel free to contact the office. Detailed check out instructions were sent home yesterday.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Semester tests (and therefore, exemptions!) are this Thursday and Friday. Please see the graphic below for a detailed explanation of the exemption policy. Your students will receive their exemption notes, explaining in which classes they are exempt, on Tuesday during Elevate class. All behavior and attendance through Wednesday at 3pm will count towards exemptions.
The highlights:
1. Even if a student is exempt, if they are at school, they will be expected to attend class and take the test.
2. Students can be checked in and out BETWEEN testing sessions. They may not leave early or arrive late.
3. Students with a walk home form on file (this was done by parents at enrollment) may check themselves out BETWEEN testing sessions to walk home, IF a parent/guardian calls to give permission before 9:30 am.
4. If verbal permission hasn't been given by 9:30 am, the only way a student can be checked out is in person, through the exit office.
Thank you. We know the kids are going to finish the semester strong! Please call the office if you have any questions.

Our final Staff/Teacher Feature for the semester is over our fearless leader, Principal Kiley Donley. Mrs. Donley attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (Go, Dawgs!) and has been in education for 23 years. She has spent 12 of those years here at Bethany and is in her 4th year as middle school principal.
“I never dreamed that I would be in the middle school setting. As a 3rd grader at Thomas Elementary, I knew that I was going to be an elementary teacher. For 19 years I did just that! I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and was also an elementary assistant principal for four years. When the opportunity to move to the MS was offered to me, I didn't really know what I was getting into. What a fun ride it has been getting to know students in middle school and helping them navigate the changes they face as they grow up and move into high school.”
Mrs. Donley enjoys:
🎥Movie - Father of the Bride; Hope Floats
🍴Restaurant - Hideaway, Chick Fil A, Charlestons
📺TV show - Friends
💙🟠❤️🟪Sports team - Thunder, OU, Bethany Bronchos
🥤Drink - Dr. Pepper
🎸Band or music - Country
🏄Vacation place - Seaside
🛍️Hobbies - Shopping, watching sports, reading
👪🦮🦮Family/pet details - 1 husband, 2 daughters, 2 mini goldendoodles
Fun fact about Mrs. Donley: She played many sports in high school, and basketball in college, and now her oldest daughter is doing the same! In fact, her oldest is a state champion in basketball, and both of her girls are state champions in soccer!
Say hello to Mrs. Donley!

Today’s Teacher Feature is on Mr. Steve Sharp, Director of Bands here at Bethany Public Schools. Mr. Sharp obtained his Bachelors of Music Education degree from Southern Nazarene University, and his Masters of Music Education degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Himself a graduate of BHS, we are so grateful that he has spent the last nine years of his 26 years total in education, right back here at Bethany!
Some of Mr. Sharp’s favorite things:
👰Movie- The Princess Bride
🥣Snack- Cheerios
🤠Restaurant- Any BBQ
📺TV show- Any Murder Mystery
🏈 🏀Sports team- OU; Denver Broncos; OKC Thunder
🥤Drink - Sprite; Tea
🎷Band or music - Jazz
📚Book- Murder mysteries
🌄Vacation - Anywhere with mountains
🚗Hobbies- Yard work, working on cars, woodwork
🏁Dream career if not a teacher - Race car driver
One fun fact about Mr. Sharp: He has driven a Lamborghini Huracan really fast on a certified Formula 1 race track!
“I don't have a pithy quote, I just know that it was the mentorship of great teachers that influenced me to become a band director. Growing up in the Sharp family, making music was a big part of our life. It was through the influence of a great college professor who taught me how to teach and build positive relationships that I discovered I wanted to share my love for music with others.
I really love middle school kids because of their energy and enthusiasm. If you don't tell them it's hard and keep a good balance of hard work with positive rewards, middle school kids could take over the world. I know this hyperbolic statement seems silly but I truly admire the energy, drive, resiliency and enthusiasm of the adolescent student.”
