Don't forget, Spring Picture Day for BMS has been rescheduled for March 11th. Extra order forms are available in the office.

Reminder! Wear PJ's and "Dream of a Kinder World" tomorrow (Thursday)!!

Random Acts of Kindness Month is in full swing! This week our Compliment Box is set up at school, so students can leave a positive note of encouragement or compliment for a fellow student or teacher. We are moving "Dreaming of a Kinder World" PJ Day to Thursday this week to accommodate for a field trip. And next Thursday will be "Peace, Love and Tye-Die Day" for everyone. Our hope is these visual reminders help everyone remember to spread a little kindness not only in February, but all year long. Remember, in a world where you can be anything, be kind!

Attn MS Baseball, Soccer, and Track & Field athletes: The BMS Spring Sports Media Day is scheduled for this Saturday, Feb 14th. No appointment necessary; walk in anytime from 9 am to 4 pm. BMS Commons. No charge to take photo for yearbook team image. Individual photos available (optional) for purchase. Order forms will be at the school that day. See you there!

Shoutout to our amazing Crossing Guards! Tuesday, Feb 10th, is Crossing Guard Appreciation Day -- their dedication keeps our streets safe and our kids protected. Heat, cold, rain, and more, they are always there to ensure things are running smoothly!

Hey, BMS Students, this week is the high school spring sports recognition and the entire district is welcome to take part in dress up days. Our (BMS) spring sports spirit week and pep assembly will take place later (details coming!) but in the meantime, if you're looking for a good excuse to dress up (hats & pajamas, anyone?!) then here you go!

Students in Mrs. Will's Healthy Living classes were visited today by Kristin Rinke, a registered clinical dietitian with Bethany Children's Hospital. Mrs. Rinke spoke to the classes and fielded questions about diet, hydration and nutrition. We are so grateful for community members who are willing to partner with our school for the students!
Huge congratulations to our Bethany Middle School Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Paige Dillard! Mrs. Dillard teaches 6th grade and 7th grade math, and we are so grateful for the care, passion, and creativity she brings to her classroom every single day. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Dillard in our school, seeing the potential in all of her students and helping them to not only suceed, but thrive! Congratulations, Mrs. Dillard!

BMS Yearbook is down to only 47 books left for pre-order. We cannot increase the size of our order so once all books are reserved, it will be too late if you haven't already purchased.
Also, 8th grade parents who bought a yearbook ad for your student ..... over 20 of you have not yet bought a book. We sent you an email earlier this week if you are one of those people who purchased an ad, but no book. Please do not wait to purchase, we will sell out and having an ad in the book does not guarantee you a copy. Please check to be sure and order asap.
Thank you! We just completed our most recent deadline and are so excited to share this year's book with our students!

Congratulations to our January Students of the Month! Canaan H, Calvary H, Lucas K, Kassidy K, Ava B, and Annabelle N. These students are selected by teachers and faculty each month for being great examples of our Bethany Middle School Four P's -- Productive, Prompt, Prepared, and Polite. Great job, Bronchos!
February is Random Acts of Kindness Month here at BMS, starting with our first activity this Thursday after school, Sidewalk Chalks of Encouragement. All students are welcome and encouraged to take part in this, and all the events happening this month. The goal of Random Acts of Kindness Month in February is to inspire, promote, and normalize daily kindness, creating a ripple effect that strengthens communities, reduces stress, and boosts mental health. It encourages intentional acts of compassion and selflessness to make the world a better, more connected place. Take a look at our list of upcoming events!

Thank you to our February Community Partner of the Month, Grounds 4 Compassion. We appreciate their support of Bethany Public Schools!

Updates for events that were missed this week due to weather:

Today’s teacher feature is over Mrs. Jennifer Buxton, who wears many hats at Bethany Public Schools! She is a 7th grade English teacher, a middle school Spanish teacher, the head middle school cheer coach, and an assistant high school pom coach! Whew!
Mrs. Buxton received her Bachelors in English from the University of Central Oklahoma, with a minor in Spanish. She has spent eight years total in education, three of them here at Bethany.
“For me, teaching is about planting seeds of possibility in the hearts and minds of young people - seeds I may never see bloom, but that I know will grow.”
A few favorites:
🍿Movie: You've Got Mail
🥒Snack: Dill pickle chips
🌮Restaurant: Alfredos
☕Drink: coffee
🌴Vacation: the beach!!
📺TV show: The Office
📖Book: The Outsiders
Mrs. Buxton loves watching her oldest daughter play softball 🥎and her other daughter dance 👯on the Pom team. She also loves watching OU ❤️sports, especially football and softball! She loves going on vacations with her family and making memories.
A fun fact about Mrs. Buxton: “I grew up in Nicaragua and graduated from High School there. I've also lived in Costa Rica and Mexico.”
Dream job: “I love teaching and can't imagine doing anything else, but if I had to choose another job I would be a travel influencer and travel all over the world!” ✈️🧳🌎
Say hi to Mrs. Buxton ….. We are glad she is part of our group!
