
BHS Key Club sponsored their 3rd annual Poppy Project to raise awareness for veterans’ mental health. The poppies are on display along College Ave. between NW 39th & 38th streets.


New BHS sport, eSports, had 2 Smash Bros teams make it to the first round of state playoffs. Members of those teams are listed below. There will be 4 rounds they have to play to make it to the semi finals and then the state playoffs..

Bethany High School Alternative Ed students took a field trip to the Oklahoma Contemporary Art Museum downtown. Students viewed an exhibit called Outre’ West, which focuses on Oklahoma architects and their unusual designs, particularly homes. The group discussed how one person’s idea can impact multiple generations. Students then got to work in the makers space designing their own homes and buildings.







Senior Gracie Sparks was awarded Sr All-Star in cross country. To be awarded Sr All-Star you must be a top 10 Senior finisher but not place in the top 10 in the race. Way to go Gracie!


On November 7th, BHS hosted a Q&A opportunity with Ms. Amanda Ervin, who works for various community agencies in the OKC metro area, as well as speaking to schools about being a woman in the military (U.S Air Force veteran), having been deployed around the world, as well as living as Native American in today's society.



Aviation students participated in a kite project during the week. During this assignment, students determined the key factors of and dynamics which affect and impact flight: to include, force, pressure, wind, temperature, etc.
Evan Herren was able to attain the highest elevation of his kite, flying it nearly 150 yards above Bethany High School (pic 1), Kylie Atkerson attempted various angles with her launch (pic 2) and Eli Brown tested headwind to find an effective successful strategy (pic 3)




Dr Thomas Taylor Dickey from Oklahoma State University visited our high school orchestra to work with them before their upcoming November contest.


BHS National Honor Society held their annual Blood Drive today. Students were screened by healthcare professionals to make sure they were eligible and able to donate blood. Students meeting the criteria were escorted to the donation mobile and nurses explained the process. When asked why they chose to donate, junior Luke Gillespie replied, "Why not? I mean, nothing bad happens. Only good can come of it." Senior, Ander Spear shared about his experience, "I have received blood from other people before and it helped me when I was in a coma. I thought I could pay it forward and give mine to others to help them." After donating, students received a snack and free t-shirt to wear proudly.



Bethany High School students and Middle School students honored Veterans with a special Veterans Day assembly. The assembly had several distinguished guests such as Senator Kirt, Representative Marilyn Stark, Bethany Mayor Nikki Lloyd, and City Council Members Brian Magirowsky, Ken Smart, and Jeff Knapp. Special guest speaker Commander Corey D. Brooks of the United States Navy is a former White House Staff member for President George W. Bush, a Presidential Appointee in the Department of Defense, and was also elected to the Oklahoma State Senate in 2012. He is an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy and earlier this year was selected for Command of the NORAD and US Northern Command Intelligence Unit. Following the speech Bethany High school Band honored Dale Heidebrecht, a BHS alum and member of the band who paid the ultimate price in Vietnam. The Assistant Director of Oklahoma American Legion Boys State Bart Looper led the Boys State flag folding ceremony. Emilio Osorto performed Taps and then the Bethany High School Band performed the drum cadence of each branch in the United States Military.


BHS recently had our Annual College/Career Fair. There were 30 different representatives from colleges/universities, technology centers, trade schools, and military branches available for students to talk to and get information from.


Hispanic & Latino Club Celebrated a Mexican Tradition Called Dia De Los Muertos by setting up an Ofrenda filled with pictures of members of the club family loved ones that have passed away as well as their favorite food and personal belongings at the OKC Scissortail Festival Vida y Muerte. An ofrenda is a special setup made during the Day of the Dead to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. It's decorated with their favorite foods, drinks, photos, and items they loved in life. Key Club members listened respectfully to Army SSG Ocloo-Li speak at their monthly meeting on the importance of veterans mental health issues. Key Club launches their annual Poppy Project to honor veterans and raise awareness for mental health.



Seniors prepare for their first day of school by decorating their cars together the night before in the BHS parking lot. “It was so awesome coming together as a senior class before our last year starts,” shared Sam Hungerford Senior Class Treasurer.


Student Council welcomes back students by a favorite tradition of “Kiss Your Mom Goodbye”. “We do it to welcome the freshman to BHS and start the year with some fun,” said Reese Harris, STUCO Secretary.

Congratulations to Mr. Allen and the Bethany High School Aviation Program! Bethany was just awarded the Oklahoma State Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics 2025 Aerospace and Aviation Education Grant in the amount of $7,600 for the school's new aviation program. Introduction to Aviation will be offered for the first time to Bethany High School students, and these funds will be used to purchase classroom materials and a state-of-the-art flight simulator for the students to use! #BetterInBethany

Congratulations to junior, Skylar Brady on her nomination for volleyball player of the year by the Daily Oklahoman last Friday night. She was the youngest athlete nominated!
