BHS National Honor Society held their annual Blood Drive today. Students were screened by healthcare professionals to make sure they were eligible and able to donate blood. Students meeting the criteria were escorted to the donation mobile and nurses explained the process. When asked why they chose to donate, junior Luke Gillespie replied, "Why not? I mean, nothing bad happens. Only good can come of it." Senior, Ander Spear shared about his experience, "I have received blood from other people before and it helped me when I was in a coma. I thought I could pay it forward and give mine to others to help them." After donating, students received a snack and free t-shirt to wear proudly.
