Bethany Family,
Bethany Public Schools received guidance from the Oklahoma City-County Health Department late Friday afternoon that there is no longer an opt-out option in relation to quarantine when a person has been identified as close contact to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. Oklahoma Statute Title 63 § 1-504 and Title 63 § 1-507 were cited giving the OCCHD authority to require quarantining.
As such, effective immediately, there will be no opt-out allowed for those identified as close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. This will not be enforced retroactively.
Exemptions to quarantine are:
- Voluntary proof of being fully vaccinated.
- Proof from a doctor's note or lab results of COVID-19 illness in the past 90 days.
If you have any questions, please contact our nurses by phone or email. They are best equipped to answer your questions.
Thank you,
Drew Eichelberger
