Parents As Teachers (PAT)

Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a free and voluntary program for Bethany Public School families with children from birth to 5 years old and expectant mothers wanting prenatal information. PAT supports parents as their children’s first teachers in building foundations for living and learning.

The program is designed to provide parents an opportunity to enhance their child’s development in all areas:

  • Language
  • Intelligence
  • Social and Emotional
  • Physical (fine and gross motor skills)

PAT means a brighter future for your child

There are many life experiences that will influence learning. We hope your experience with Parents As Teachers will help prepare your children for a successful future in school and beyond.

Your school can help

School partnership should begin when learning begins, at birth. This is the philosophy of Parents as Teachers because parents are their children’s first and most influential teachers.

Bethany Public Schools is anxious to work with you as partners to help your child grow and develop to his or her maximum potential. Feel free to call the school for information.

The PAT program offers practical ideas and suggestions to make parenting even more fulfilling.

As a participant you will receive the following services:

  • Personalized in-home visits
  • Playdays with other parents and children to share parenting experiences, discuss developmental stages, gain information and activities to stimulate your child’s development.
  • A resource and referral network will be available if special services are needed.
